I am narcissus and you are the pool is a critical reflection on who the artists are and what they represent in the world. A response to the common misconception that to reflect and focus on oneself is a narcissistic practise. Each artist reflects in an individual way, bringing the nuances of their experiences to this group show. A collection of the multitudinous ways in which individuals experience life and then express that in a visual context. A perception of reality is that we only exist in singularities but how can that be the case if we are all singularities. Everyone exists as singularities with intricacies which are incomprehensible; we can attempt to perceive the experience of others through what they can share with us. The communication of one’s experience to another is something that people can take their whole lives to attempt. It is a skill to master. This is an attempt to communicate those intricacies.
